Staying at Sohyundang Guesthouse had its ups and downs. The traditional Hanok style was charming, and the room's Korean breakfast was good. However, I faced some challenges, like the small bathroom layout and the lack of a friendly atmosphere from the staff at times.

Rooms

The Triple Room with Private Bathroom had a nice layout, but the bathroom design meant everything got wet when showering. The size was decent for my group, but I would have appreciated a kettle and some tea in the room.
Service

While the lady housekeeper was friendly and responsive via email, the manager wasn't very cooperative and often said 'no' to requests, which was frustrating.
Location

I loved the location, just a 15-20 minute walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes.
Dining

Breakfast was served in the room and included traditional Korean dishes like rice, kimchi, and meat soup, which I enjoyed. However, they weren't flexible with dietary preferences.
Facilities

The hotel is a classic Hanok; however, I noticed some clutter in the garden area and a lack of outdoor seating. The bathroom could be improved as water could pool on the floor.

My stay at the Sohyundang Guesthouse was a mixed bag. While I appreciated the clean room and the nice breakfast provided, I found the location somewhat inconvenient, especially with steep steps and narrow common areas. Overall, it was a decent place, but not without its challenges.

The Family Room was clean and had a proper bathroom, but it felt a bit cramped for my family. There were also steep steps to navigate, which made moving around a chore.

The host was strict about certain rules, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable at times. There were instances where communication could have been better, especially when issues arose.
Location

The guesthouse is not very close to public transport, and the roads leading to it were uneven. It's a bit of a walk to local eateries, which may be challenging for older guests.
Dining

Breakfast was simple but nice, served in the room. I would have liked more options, but it was a nice touch to have it included.
Facilities

While the room had heating, it lacked some amenities, like a kettle for tea. The common space was narrow, which made it feel less inviting.

My stay at Sohyundang Guesthouse was pretty decent overall. The room was clean and I loved the floor heating during the chilly nights. However, the bathroom situation was a bit awkward since the toilet and shower were together, making things a bit messy. Plus, getting around with my luggage was no fun due to the steep steps and narrow space.
